4 STEPS

ADVERTISING BANNER FROM A PRAGMATICS25 PRO MEMBER

STEP 1

THIS IS A TUTORIAL. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH JOINING TRAFFIC EXCHANGES AND SUBMITTING YOUR USER INFORMATION INTO A DOWNLINE BUILDER, YOU CAN GO STRAIGHT TO THE PRO MEMBERSHIP PAGE AT PRO PAGE.

This is STEP 1 of 4, and may be considered the most important step in the system. Your goal here is to choose which programs that you want to promote given the large number of credits that you will earn with Steps 2, 3, and 4.

STEP 1 (What Do You Want to Promote) is the only step that may result in a highly variable and unpredictable response. The success of this step is exclusively contingent on the response quality and rate of the surfers that view your chosen sites. Your chosen sites are your "chosen programs." Please keep this in mind when making your choices. Some programs are more effective than others. Spending some time on this step will be well worth your effort.

Before taking any steps, you might consider downloading a browser that is customized for traffic exchange users. These browsers will save you loads of time with your surfing because they allow you to open many different web pages within a single browser window. This saves computer resources which speeds up the page loading. If you have not already done so, please consider downloading 1 of the 2 specialized browsers.

You might also consider setting up a separate email account to use as your email address for traffic exchange related stuff. Below are a few useful links.

I can only provide some guidance in making your choices in Step 1. What it comes down to is finding some great programs that you want to promote. I can recommend some specific sites, but please do not limit your choices to my recommendations. Here is a suggestion, though. Please limit the number of your "chosen programs" to under 4. Spreading your credits too thin may result in poor results. Also, the idea is to "flood" the surfers with repeated views of your "chosen programs." Research suggests that the more times a viewer sees your site, the more likely they are to respond to it.

Some questions to ask yourself when considering which "chosen programs" to choose include ...

1. How relevant are my services to Traffic Exchange users?
Note that most Traffic Exchange members are doing this for the same reasons that you are - to promote their own programs. Their goal is not necessarily to find new programs to join.

2. Is my service free or does it cost money?
Most Traffic Exchange participants would rather join a free program than a program that has up-front membership fees.

3. How valuable and beneficial are the services that I am offering?
If it is not a very good beneficial value, it will be ignored.

4. How unique are my programs?
Unique programs receive more attention than programs that are similar versions of the same thing.

5. How attractive are the Home Pages or Splash Pages of my programs?
If it does not capture the attention of the surfer, it will be ineffective. Many programs offer "splash pages" which are designed to grab attention just enough for the surfer to click a "Save this Site for Later" button so they it can be read later.

6. Do my programs' Home Pages include a "Save this Site for Later" button, and does that button preserve my affiliate link when clicked?
This is vitally important because most surfers are unwilling to pause their surfing for any reason - even if they are interested in your program. They will, however, click a button which enables them to read about it at a more convenient time. The "Save this Site for Later" button MUST open a new browser window when clicked, and it must preserve your affiliate link (otherwise you will not get credit for the referral).

In choosing your program, you might want to consider selecting by catagory. Two catagories to consider are Individual Traffic Exchange programs and Traffic Exchange Downline Builders. There are thousands of programs in each of these catagories, but I can only recommend a few. Do your own research.

Individual Traffic Exchange Programs

You need to consider several factors if you want to build a downline in any of these programs. Here they are:

1. Is this a free or pro traffic exchange? (Free is usually better)
2. Is the surfing ratio attractive?
3. Is the program newer or older? (newer programs will usually get more referrals)
4. What does the Home Page look like, or do they offer a Splash Page?
5. Does this program have any unique features that make it stand out from the rest?
6. How much fun is the program to surf?
7. What does the referral program offer?

Below is a chart of several programs that I would personally recommend. They are all free programs. The join, home page, and splash page links will open new windows. Each factor is graded on a 4-point scale (poor, fair, good, great). There are, of course, lots more quality programs than these. Please be aware that my grades for each factor are completely subjective. Please do your own research to reach your own conclusions.

Downline Builders

Downline Builders contain links to join many Traffic Exchange programs. They are essentially dependent on the success of those programs that they promote. They claim to promote only the best of programs, and they stake their reputation on it. Basically, you join the Downline Builder and have your own duplicate Downline Builder created for you with your referral links imbedded in it. Then, as people join programs via your Downline Builder page, you get the credit for making the referral.

One problem with Downline Builders is that they create competition between their members. Example - Members A, B, and C all join the same Downline Builder. They all promote their duplicate Downline Builders to the Traffic Exchange world, and actually compete with each other to build their downline. Another problem is that they require a large number of page views to be successful. Duplicate Downline Builders are being shown everywhere and the only way to get the upper hand is to show your Downline Builder more often than everyone else. Lastly, Downline Builders quickly get saturated with members, and promotion of individual duplicate Downline Builder sites becomes a wasted effort. Downline Builders are great at first, but a large membership leads to market saturation. All in all, it comes down to this - If everyone is selling the same product that you are, you probably won't get very many buyers.

As stated above, Downline Builders can work for you if you are able to show your Downline Builder page more often than everyone else. This is where 4 STEPS can help. 4 STEPS will provide you with a large number of credits to adequately promote your Downline Builder.

As with the Traffic Exchanges above, there are many Downline Builders out there. Some are better than others. I can't possibly cover them all, so I will provide links to those that I am already a member of - those diamonds that I selected from the rough. Again, do your own research if you want to choose a Downline Builder as one of your "chosen programs."

Also, please be aware that you can only receive the maximum benefit of a Downline Builder if you join EVERY PROGRAM that it offers. Referrals that you recruit, for programs that you are not a member of, are given to someone else. Don't join a Downline Builder if you are not ready to join all of the programs that it promotes. Below are some of my favorite Downline Builders, with explanations of why I like them.

Pragmatics25

JOIN

I created this one myself, and launched it in December 2005. Pragmatics25 is a traffic exchange downline builder that offers 2 unique features - SuperSurf and EasyJoin. Most of the traffic exchanges have instant surfing links, and the SuperSurf feature organizes your surfing for you. The EasyJoin feature shows you only the traffic exchanges that you have not yet joined on the members page. After your join a traffic exchange, it will no longer appear on the members page. This lets you know exactly which exchanges you need to join to maximize your Pragmatics25 membership benefits. I highly recommend Pragmatics25.

Traffic Master

JOIN

This was one of the my first website creations. I kept it simple and direct. It offers 25 great traffic exchanges in a table, and provides some pertinent information about each exchange. You can follow the instructions to create your own free Traffic Master site. To keep your Traffic Master site unique, you can customize it by choosing from 6 different background colors. Simple, but quite effective.
